
Northampton football player Gavin Taff and Saucon Valley girls cross country runner Virginia Kraus are Athlete of the Week winners for Week 7 of the 2025-26 season.
Gavin Taff, Northampton football
The quarterback passed for 127 yards against Easton and became the school’s all-time leader in passing yards at 3,563, breaking 2021 graduate Joe Kerbacher’s record of 3,511. He’s also an honor roll student with a 4.2 GPA.
Virginia Kraus, Saucon Valley cross country
Finished third in the Gold Race at Lehigh University’s Paul Short Run in a time of 17.12.2, the fastest time by a District 11 runner on the day. The Dartmouth commit is a three-time PIAA champion.

Each week, The Morning Call sports staff will nominate three male and three female senior athletes from Lehigh Valley area schools based on an outstanding performance or other noteworthy accomplishment.

Voting starts Monday and runs each week from 5 p.m. ET on Mondays to 9 a.m. ET on Thursdays, with the winners announced Thursday evening.
Athlete of the Week winners will be eligible for a $500 scholarship to be awarded by Lehigh Valley Orthopedic Institute. In addition to the weekly scholarships, one male and one female Athlete of the Week winner will be awarded with a $10,000 scholarship at the end of the school year. View the official rules.
