PHILADELPHIA — Eagles Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jalen Carter will miss Monday night’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers after undergoing a procedure on both shoulders, according to multiple reports Thursday.

Carter is now going through treatment for both shoulders and is considered week-to-week, wanting to be as healthy as possible for the Birds’ playoff run.

Carter, in his third season out of Georgia, was uncharacteristically ineffective against a Bears running attack that put up 281 yards on Black Friday as Chicago handed the Eagles a 24-15 loss in front of a booing crowd at Lincoln Financial Field.

After the game, he was asked about his health: “It’s my problems to deal with. I ain’t gonna tell everybody what I’m going through,” adding that “there were some runs I got drove back or I wasn’t making no effect on the play.”

The procedure on both shoulders occurred Monday, but defensive coordinator Vic Fangio didn’t mention it Tuesday, nor did head coach Nick Sirianni on Wednesday.

“He does have a shoulder issue,” Fangio said. “He has been playing with it. Late in the game, he had a great play with it, but it’s definitely something there.”

Carter has been dealing with at least one shoulder issue since the beginning of training camp and even going back to spring activities. He has been in severe discomfort several times this season, particularly against Chicago.

The Eagles will lean on Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Bryan Young and Ty Robinson to pick up the slack in Carter’s absence.

The surgical procedure was initially reported by ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
