Blue Mountain and Camelback ski resorts are kicking off their winter season for skiing, snow tubing and more starting this week.
Blue Mountain Resort, at 1660 Blue Mountain Drive in Lower Towamensing Township, begins its winter season at 9 a.m. Friday. Camelback Resort opened Wednesday at 301 Resort Drive in Pocono Township.
Blue Mountain will open 30% of the mountain, the most terrain in Pennsylvania, including 40 acres and 13 trails. A new food option this season, The Spud Truck, will serve loaded fries and stuffed baked potatoes.
Both resorts were named the top two places for snow tubing last month by USA Today. The resorts’ snow tubing experiences are expected to open Dec. 11 at Blue Mountain and sometime next week for Camelback.
Camelback Resort is also home to the state’s largest aerial obstacle course.
