Standup comedian John Mulaney will return to the Lehigh Valley for next year’s Musikfest.

The festival announced Tuesday that the Emmy Award-winning comedian and former “Saturday Night Live” writer will perform Aug. 1 as part of his “Mister Whatever” tour.

ArtsQuest members can buy tickets beginning Tuesday. General public ticket sales begin 10 a.m. Friday.

Mulaney is the first standup comedian to headline the festival since 2023, when Gabriel Iglesias was a headliner. Mulaney, who also hosts “Everybody’s Live with John Mulaney” on Netflix, performed in September at Wind Creek Event Center.

Musikfest, which takes place on Bethlehem’s North and South sides, will run July 31 to Aug. 9. It will be the 43rd year for the festival.

The first two headliners were announced this week. Comedy artist “Weird Al” Yankovic will perform Aug. 4 and country musician Bailey Zimmerman will perform Aug. 6.

A largely rain-free Musikfest last year led to record-breaking attendance of nearly 1.45 million over the 10-day festival.
