Combee-Smith, 93, went home to meet her Heavenly Father on December 27, 2025. Perie was born on June 1, 1932, in Patterson, NJ to the late Matthew Beattie, Sr and Perie Beattie (DeVisser). She was the wife of Clearence L. Combee (Skip) for 47 years before his passing July 1, 2000. She then after being widowed for 16 years and found the second Love of her Life Albert Smith and was married on May 15, 2016, they spent almost 4 years together until his passing February 15, 2020. She retired from Leigh Valley Hospital (food service) in 2000. A woman of quiet strength and deep faith, Perie lived her life with a servant’s heart. She loved her family and found joy in caring for others, offering kindness, wisdom, and a listening ear whenever it was needed. Perie was preceded in death by four siblings: Martha Storms, Margret Hampton, Edmound Beattie, and John Beattie; as well as her grandson Jeremy Sell and Step Grandson Zachary Smith Surviving are 2 daughters and 2 Stepsons: Linda Dutton (Ric) and Kathy Brown (Vernon), and former Son-in Law Keith Sell, Stepsons Kevin Smith (Kayln) and Kyle Smith (Sherry); grandchildren Jason Sell, Jessica Sell Niedosik, Jenna Davis, Wesley Chapman, Taylor Chapman, and Ashley Makemson; Step Grandsons Dylan Smith, Sawyer Smith, Jory Brown, Step Granddaughters Cassie Rambo and Meghan (Smith) Quier; a Brother Matthew Beattie Jr.; 14 Great Grand Children, 4 step Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grand Children on the way. A visitation will be held prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 9, 2026, and a service at 11:00 AM at Lehigh Valley Baptist Church, 1702 Cole Brook Ave, Emmaus, PA 18049. burial will be immediately following at Cedar Hill Memorial Park 1700 Airport Road, Allentown, PA 18109. Born in New York City on July 25, 1937, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Catherine (Kilimet) Lackner. Joseph served his country honorably and proudly as a member of the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Joe began his career working in the Brooklyn Naval Yard, building naval ships. He then worked in the electrical department for the New York City Transit Authority until his retirement. An avid runner, he participated in the New York City marathon. Joe also enjoyed nature & hiking, which led to his move from New York to Slatington.
Joe is survived by a brother, Jerome Lackner of Scranton.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1PM on Monday, January 5, 2026, at Assumption BVM Catholic Church, 649 W. Washington Street. A one-hour visitation will be held from 12 to 1PM at church. Burial will follow at the parish cemetery. Harding Funeral Home, Slatington is entrusted with arrangements.

Jeff loved animals and sports, particularly, he enjoyed watching the Patriots. He was a member of the former St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Allentown.
Survivors: In addition to his wife, Kim and mother, Ruth; brother-in-law; Thomas Donovan; niece, Megan Donovan; nephew, Tommy Donovan all of New Jersey; predeceased by his sister, Kathryn R. Donovan.
Service: A funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 7, 2025 in the Heintzelman-Stephens Funeral Home, P.C., 274 N. Krocks Road, Allentown. Survivors: sons, Christopher and wife Shirley, Joseph and wife Brenda; daughter Jennifer Ziegler and husband Daniel; 7 grandchildren; a great-grandson, Hudson; sister, Nancy Jane Goldberg; several nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Lillian Bird and Catherine Frey; brother, Kenneth Becker; and a brother-in-law, Dave Goldberg. John was born on February 24, 1939, to Constantinos and Kalliope (Karathanasis) Hrousis in Pagondas, Samos, Greece. He was the husband of Eva (Michalitsianos) Hrousis. John and Eva celebrated 62 years of marriage on December 1, 2025. He was a residential building contractor for his entire life. He owned and operated the family business, Samos Construction, founded by his father. A faithful member of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Easton, PA, John served on the Parish Council, was a Cantor, sang in the Church Choir, and helped with the annual church festivals. John, along with his father and sons, completed many renovations and building improvements for the church, including the installation of iconography. Additionally, he was instrumental in renovating the church in his hometown of Pagondas, Samos, Greece, and at Holy Protection Monastery in White Haven, PA. John was known for his inventive creations around the house. He loved all types of music, from church music to classical to classic rock. He enjoyed singing melodies to Greek folk songs as Eva harmonized along. John relished vacation time with the family at the Jersey shore, holidays in Buffalo, NY, and trips to Disney World. Every year, John would take the whole family to Astoria, NY, for the annual St. Irene Chrysovoalantou feast day festival. At the end of many days, John could be found sitting at the kitchen table, happily cutting fruit for the whole family.
John is survived by his wife, Eva Hrousis; his daughters, Kalliope Hrousis Disakias (Sal Selletto) and Irene (Ereni Sevasti) Rosenthal, wife of Marc; his sons, Constantinos (Costas) Hrousis and his wife Despina, and Evangelos (Angelo) Hrousis; his six grandchildren, Aspasia Sue Disakias, Kristina Disakias, Gianni Hrousis, Petros Hrousis, Evanthia (Vanna) Hrousis, and Eva E. Rosenthal; his brother, Athanasios C. Hrousis, husband of Ruth; his nephew, Dr. Constantine A. Hrousis, his wife Carrie, and their children Lore, Bobby, and Athan; his goddaughter, Voula Markopoulos-Murdock; and his godson, Teddy Rigas. He was predeceased by his brother Evangelos Hrousis. He is lovingly remembered by extended family members Elizabeth, Eddie, Suzanne, and Kimberly Rostek; and Andrew Michalitsianos.

Born and raised in Easton, Pennsylvania, Michael raised his two sons in the Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, before settling in Daytona Beach, Florida, over two decades ago.
Michael served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War as a radioman on the USS Boxer aircraft carrier. In his career, he was an award-winning car salesman, known for his ability to connect with people. Michael was an avid chess player, and enjoyed playing quoits and poker, listening to oldies music, and dancing. Above all, Michael took great pride in his family. He is survived by his two sons and four grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy in his life.
Michael will be remembered for his perseverance, warmth, and devotion to those he loved.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 5, 2026 at Gethsemane Cemetery, William Penn Hwy., Easton, PA.
