Thomas C. Miller OBITUARY
Thomas C. Miller, 96, of Bethlehem, passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2025. Born in Richmond Hill, Queens, NY, he was a son of the late NYPD Sgt. Cornelius Miller and Ruth (Barning) Miller. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of thirty one years Jean (Dempsey) Miller.
He served in Germany during the Korean War. Upon returning to the United States he received a BA degree at St. John’s University majoring in Accounting and Economics, followed by evening studies at NYU Graduate School of Finance. He also completed the Graduate School of Credit and Finance Management during three summers at the Tuck School at Dartmouth College. He rose through the ranks at Bankers’ Trust serving his last assignment as a Senior Vice President in charge of risk in Asia/Pacific region, living in Hong Kong. He retired in 1987 after 40 years, but consulted for another 3 years.
His over 30 year’s retirement gave him a new life of volunteering, more education and travel. He served on the boards of Bethlehem Historic District, New Bethany Ministries, NODA (No One Dies Alone) at LVHN, pastoral care at St. Luke’s, and the Northampton County Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council. He received the Northampton County Seniors Award in 2019.
Tom, met his current wife, Bunny (Bantle) Miller, hiking on the Appalachian Trail. They had many wonderful years taking courses at Muhlenburg in the Senior Scholar Program and traveling the world and 49 of our beautiful states.
In addition to his wife Bunny, he is survived by 4 sons Neil (Pam) of King of Prussia; Ross (Kathy) of Stewartsville, NJ; Tom (Betzi) of Florence, MA; Jon James (Mia) of Oakland, CA and 4 grandchildren, Katie, Chris, Becky, And Harry.
