Allentown firefighters brought a house fire under control Sunday morning, but not before it caused enough damage to displace residents.

The fire was reported around 10:30 a.m. in the 1800 block of Woodlawn St., according to a news release from Allentown Fire Department spokesperson Capt. Jonathan Hammel, who later added he wasn’t aware of any injuries reported.

Responders found the fire toward the back of the home and determined nobody was inside the building. Additional resources were brought in, and fire crews worked to bring the blaze under control, Hammel said.

Displaced residents are being assisted by the Red Cross, according to the news release.

The fire is under investigation by the city fire marshal.
