The Palmer Township community is mourning the passing of one of its elected officials.
Charles E. “Zeke” Bellis III, 65, has died, according to township Manager Robert Williams. Bellis’ last appearance on behalf of the township was Wednesday discussing a development, Williams said.
Williams described Bellis as a “dedicated public servant, family man, and member of our community. He will be missed.”
Bellis, who was elected to a six-year term on the supervisors board in 2023, owned Easton Beverage Co. in the township. He also coached youth sports for many years and served on the Palmer athletic association board.
A viewing will be held 4-7 p.m. Friday at Morello Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at the family’s convenience.
The township flag at the municipal building at Weller Place off Newburg Road is to be flown at half-staff until after Bellis’ funeral, according to Williams.
Officials canceled Tuesday night’s regular supervisors meeting, Williams said, out of respect for Bellis’ family and friends.
