
One person was killed and two people were injured early Friday morning in a shooting in Allentown, according to authorities.
Police were called to the 1300 block of Hanover Avenue around 1:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting, authorities said. Investigators determined there was a fight inside Big Woody’s restaurant that led to the shooting.
When police arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where one died from his injuries. The other is expected to survive his injuries, according to a department news release. Not long after, a third person arrived at a nearby hospital for treatment of injuries from the same incident, police said. He was treated and is also expected to survive his injuries.
Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio identified the man who died as 34-year-old David Gibbs, of Allentown. His cause of death was gunshot injuries, with the manner homicide, according to the coroner.
Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan said the investigation is ongoing, and that there does not appear to be any public risk related to the incident.
