Black Friday tends to be slower than in years past, but that isn’t the case Friday at one popular shopping destination in the Poconos.
“Extreme congestion and parking issues” forced the temporary closure of the parking lot entrances at The Pocono Premium Outlets in Tannersville, according to an announcement from Pocono Township Police just after 2:30 p.m. Friday.
“PLEASE DO NOT PARK ON THE SHOULDER OR ROADWAYS,” police added.
Just over an hour later, around 3:40 p.m., police reported that the lot had reopened, but there was still traffic congestion in the area. Police reminded motorists not to block roadways.
