A 46-year-old Allentown man died Wednesday, days after he was hit by a tractor-trailer that was backing up in the city’s downtown, the Lehigh County coroner said Friday.

Coroner Dan Buglio said Luis A. Cruz was pronounced dead at 4:40 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest. The cause of death was blunt force injuries due to him being hit by the truck five days prior. The manner of death is accident.

Cruz was a pedestrian in the 700 block of West Linden Street, near the PPL Center, around 11:30 p.m. Nov. 21 when he was hit, Buglio said.
