29-year-old pedestrian fatally hit by car in Allentown identified

Officials have identified the pedestrian who died after he was hit by a vehicle Friday night in Allentown.

Rigoberto Hernandez Arias, 29, of Allentown was hit by a car about 8 p.m. in the 2400 block of South Fourth Street, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.

Hernandez Arias was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died from his injuries about 30 minutes later.

Buglio determined Hernandez Arias’ death was caused by blunt-force injuries, with the manner homicide.

Allentown police and the Lehigh County district attorney’s office are investigating the incident.
