The death of an 8-week-old girl Tuesday afternoon in Lehigh County is under investigation, according to authorities.
Coroner Daniel A. Buglio said the infant, from Coplay, was pronounced dead about 3:30 p.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg in Bethlehem. An autopsy was conducted Wednesday, but Buglio said the cause and manner of her death are pending additional investigation.
In addition to the coroner’s office, Coplay police and the Lehigh County district attorney’s office are investigating the death.
DA Gavin Holihan said the investigation is in its early stages and it is too early to release additional information.
