Snow has led to multiple crashes during the Wednesday evening commute across northern portions of the Lehigh Valley.

Route 100 was shut down in the area of Lyon Valley Road due to icy road conditions, according to the Emergency Alerts of Lehigh County Facebook page.

In South Whitehall Township, multiple crashes shut down Mechanicsville Road at Mauch Chunk Road around 5 p.m., according to the Newsworking Facebook page. Newsworking also reported crashes on Ruchsville Road Near South Church Street.

Crashes were also reported across Moore Township in Northampton County, according to scanner reports.

The icy conditions came as the area was under a winter weather advisory, which has since expired as the precipitation has turned over to rain. The winter weather also prompted Allentown City Council to cancel its Wednesday evening meeting, at which it was set to finalize the 2026 budget.
