A warm front is set to hit the Lehigh Valley this week. What that means for the holiday.

Clouds move across the sky Wednesday, July 16, 2025, with the steeples of Ss. Peter & Paul Byzantine Catholic Church in view in Bethlehem. The region and all of southeast Pennsylvania are under a slight risk of flash flooding Wednesday night, and storms could produce heavy rain, with rates of 1 to 2 inches per hour, according to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey. Up to 4 inches of rain could fall in some areas. (April Gamiz/The Morning Call)

While the clouds won’t be completely going away for Thanksgiving week, the Lehigh Valley will see some spring-like temperatures as travelers hit the road Wednesday.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey, says a warm front passing through Tuesday will bring rain along with the balmy air.

Rain will arrive after 1 p.m. Tuesday along with a high of 52 degrees, though it could hit 60. There will be periods of rain through the evening with a quarter of an inch possible.

Wednesday’s high is 62 with clouds and possibly more precipitation.

“Overall, this system looks like a beneficial rain more than anything though Tuesday through Wednesday night is shaping up to be a damp and dreary stretch,” the NWS said in its weather discussion.

A cold front will come into the Valley on Wednesday night and bring lower temperatures. Thanksgiving is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 44.
