A manufacturer of sustainable food packaging has announced it is expanding its Bethlehem plant, adding up to 20 jobs.
Ecopax LLC will add 104,238 square feet to its facility at 1355 Easton Road in Lehigh Valley Industrial Park VII. Developer J.G. Petrucci Company Inc., which built the company’s Forks Township headquarters in 2006, made the announcement Wednesday.
“Ecopax is committed to growing our sustainable manufacturing capabilities right here in the Lehigh Valley,” said founder Peter Wong. “Petrucci was great to work with for our first location so naturally it made sense to partner with them to expand our operations.”
The expansion will add to the current 315,643-square-foot manufacturing and warehousing building that was opened in 2017. It will feature six loading docks, 12 additional truck parking spaces and upgraded fire protection infrastructure, including two new fire hydrants and a water line expansion.
Ecopax is seeing an increased demand for its sustainable packaging products, including takeout containers and food trays designed to reduce environmental impact by using energy-efficient processes and eco-conscious materials.
“Ecopax’s continued investment in their Bethlehem facility illustrates the strength of our industrial parks and the value of long-term partnerships between local companies and experienced developers like J.G. Petrucci,” said Kerry Wrobel, LVIP president.
