Officials have identified the bicyclist who died Wednesday in a crash in Whitehall Township<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Nickolas A. Siegfried, 39, of Nazareth, was riding his bike about 1:15 p.m. in the 2600 block of MacArthur Road, which is Route 145, near the intersection with Sutler Drive when he was hit by a vehicle, according to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio.<\/p>\n

Siegfried was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, where he died from his injuries about an hour later. Buglio said Siegfried’s death was caused by blunt-force trauma, with the manner accidental.<\/p>\n

Whitehall police said a full investigation is underway. That portion of the road was closed for several hours while police investigated. The Lehigh County District Attorney’s office is also helping with the investigation.<\/p>\n
